On March 13th, the 28th SUMS International Symposium was held and we welcomed Dr. Goon Jo Aan and Dr. Mohd Hanafi Ahmad Damanhuri, Associate Professors of Biochemistry from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), one of our partner universities, to give lectures.

We also had a lecture by Prof. Shinsuke Ishigaki, Molecular Neuroscience Research Center of SUMS, and all the speakers and participants actively engaged in discussions to exchange ideas on Aging Science, the theme of this symposium, through Q & A sessions.

In the second half of the symposium, seven international students and researchers from UKM, currently studying at SUMS, presented their research findings. Each speaker delivered an outstanding presentation and expressed their gratitude towards their supervisors and colleagues for their support and guidance.

The event drew 35 attendees to the venue, with additional participants joining in remotely through Zoom for a total of more than 50 attendees.

Overall, the symposium was a great success and further strengthened the academic relationship between the two universities.
