2024.10.04
Friday, October 4th 2024, a symposium was held in Clinical Lecture Room 3 to commemorate the establishment of the Joint Degree Program (JDP) with The National University of Malaysia (UKM).
JDP enables Japanese universities to create joint programs and confer single academic degrees jointly, setting up majors which organize joint curriculum with universities in foreign countries.
Held as part of SUMS 50th anniversary project, the event commemorated the establishment of the JDP, which will launch a doctoral program specialized in “Ageing Science” in October 2025. Lectures focusing “Ageing Science” were delivered by 4 speakers; Prof. Mohamad Nasir Bin Shafiee (UKM), Prof. Goon Jo Aan (UKM), Prof. Ishigaki Shinsuke from Molecular Neuroscience Research Center (SUMS), and Prof. Ema Masatsugu, Research Center for Animal Life Science (SUMS), followed by the signing ceremony of the JDP agreement.
Over a hundred participants, including students and faculty members, joined and witnessed the launch of one of SUMS’ new steps in international exchange.
